Lavender and Rosemary Bath Salts

In the winter, I go through a lot of bath salts.  A warm bath is about the only thing I can do to heat up in the bitter Ohio cold!  I love this lavender and rosemary bath salts recipe because I can make a lot at a time and use a handful in my bath as needed.  The rosemary smells amazing, and the lavender is relaxing for a night time bath.  Rosemary is said to boost your mood and relax your mind, and using the herb can help tone the skin.  Lavender herbs can help improve skin irritation and help heal dry skin, which is more common in the winter.  This recipe uses dried herbs.  If you want to use herbs that you've grown, you'll have to dry them before you use them.

Almond and Honey Facial Scrub Recipe

If your skin looks tired, this simple almond and honey facial scrub recipe can help rejuvenate your skin. This recipe is one of my favorites because the ingredients are easy to find, and probably already have them in your kitchen.  For glowing skin, use this facial scrub recipe once a week.  This mask is best for oily skin and shouldn't be used by those with sensitive skin.

10 Best Beauty Tools Every Woman Needs

I'm not big on gadgets in my life, but I make an exception for the best beauty tools.  These are 10 tools that you won't want to be without in your beauty arsenal.  These will help you create the perfect look, and some of them will even save you money.  When you spend $50 on one makeup product or it's a discontinued product, you'll be wishing you had the last drop spatulas or tube squeezers!  I really like the collapsible makeup brush cleaning rack because it doesn't take up much room to store when not in use.

How My Teen Is Crushing It

I think teens today get a bad rap.  Everyone expects them to be rude, uninterested, and lazy.  Not my teen.  Maybe it's because he's homeschooled and not around many teens, or maybe we did something right parenting him.  He's polite, passionate about his interests, and a hard worker.  Now that he's 14-years-old, I've watched him grow from a 6 pound 1 ounce newborn to a young man who at 5 feet 10 inches tall is 4 inches taller than I am!  As he's grown, so have his snacks.  When people tell you that teen boys will eat you out of house and home, believe them.  It's true!  But he's crushing it in life and with his snacks .

Benefits of Probiotics and Prebiotics

Thank you Smartypants for sponsoring this post.  As always, all enthusiasm is my own. Probiotics and prebiotics are popular right now, but you may not know much about them.  I've been studying them lately on my quest for better health, and I'd like to share some of my research with you.  There are many benefits of probiotics and prebiotics for your health.  There are also many different kinds available, and it can be difficult knowing which one is best.

Clothes Similar to LuLaRoe But Cheaper on Amazon

LuLaRoe is taking over my Facebook newsfeed!  I can't scroll without seeing how people are "roe-ing" today or posting ISO posts.  When a friend invited me to an online popup, I just had to have a pair of leggings to see what the fuss was about. I'm now the proud owner of two pairs of leggings, camo and bigfoot, but I have some issues with LLR that makes me want to turn to clothes similar to LuLaRoe .  I'll explain a little more why I am a little skeptical about LuLaRoe leggings below.   That said, I am still looking for a pair of puzzle piece leggings in TC at retail.  I need those in my life for an autism support group that I hold.   I found my puzzle pieces from Charlie's Project !  I love them just as much as LLR!

Identifying Hidden Sugar in Common Foods

Sugar is everywhere.  We know that bread is full of carbs that we don't need, but did you know that most of your favorite foods are loaded with extra sugar?  Sugar is everywhere.  I've been making small changes in my lifestyle and seeing some results in looser fitting clothes and almost a 20 pound weight loss, but I know that I need to give up added sugars if I want to see more results.  I weighed and measured myself today, and I'm going to cut out sugar for the next 30 days to see what my results are.

ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ MicroGuard™ Cat Litter Review & Giveaway

I think it's a prerequisite that you have to love all animals to live on a farm.  We have several outside critters, including dogs, chickens, ducks, homing pigeons, and goats.  Inside the house, we have three cats and a Chihuahua.  Our cats are Luie, the 16-year-old who is the best squirrel "dog" my husband has ever had; Carly, our 6-year-old princess; and Chloe, my son's Siamese mix cat.  Chloe resembles a tabby more than a Siamese except for her blue eyes, but she acts just like a frisky Siamese. My son Caleb and Chloe are best friends.  Having autism, he relates to animals better than he does people.  Just her presence helps calm him down, and he loves to pet her soft fur.  She spends her days playing with him and her evenings sleeping on his bed.  Somehow she knows that he needs her in his life.  We love all of our cats, but Chloe has a very special place in our family.  That's why I'll do anything to make her happy.

Get Two Looks With Infiniti Pro from Conair

I have naturally curly hair, but they aren't pretty curls.  They take quite a bit of coaxing to get in position and even more convincing to stay there.  That is why I normally straighten my hair every time I wash it, unless it's going to rain.  Although I like having two different looks available to me, both of them take too much time.  It can take me up to half an hour to straighten my hair since it's so thick.  When I go curly, it's really hit or miss how my curls will look.  One day they look amazing, but the next day, I look like I just rolled out of bed, yet I've spent half an hour scrunching and applying product.  In an effort to save time and my sanity, I tried using InfinitiPRO by Conair Diamond Brilliance Diamond-Infused Ceramic Smoothing Hot Brush to straighten my hair and the InfinitiPRO by Conair® Curl Secret® for cuter curls.

How to Stop Hair Breakage and Strengthen Hair

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®  & Suave Professionals  but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #SuaveBeliever #pmgSuave My hair is fairly thick, so I always deal with a lot of my hair falling out.  I am constantly picking it off of my clothes, off my laptop, and off of everything else.  Now that the weather is changing again, I'm starting to lose even more hair.  Although I have hair to spare, I'm taking steps to reduce breakage and shedding caused by weak hair. By strengthening my hair, it doesn't fall out as much, and it looks healthier.  Since I do get my hair professionally colored with three colors — brown, red, and blonde — and straighten it often, I need to take really good care of my hair to prevent future breakage and strengthen hair.

DIY Essential Oil Diffuser Necklace

I really love my essential oil diffuser for at home.  But sometimes I either can't use it because I won't be in one room, or I don't want everyone to get the benefits of the oil that I need.  For example, last month the hubby and I were very sick with pneumonia for him and bronchitis for me.  Peppermint essential oil really helps me breathe easier, but the scent really bugs my husband.  My DIY essential oil diffuser necklace really came in handy because I could walk around the house and still get the benefits of the oil.  This necklace is really easy to make.  Pair it with a few bottles of oils, and it would make a great gift.
