Frozen Aloe Vera Cubes for Sunburn

These frozen aloe vera cubes are easy natural remedies for sunburn.  These take just a few minutes to make and help your skin feel better right away. You may have noticed that I didn't post on Wednesday as I normally do.  I was at the beach.  My kids are getting older, and we only have a few summers left.   I only have two summers after this one before my oldest is 18, and hopefully he still wants to hang out with us for his remaining summers. I've decided that this will be our summer of fun.  We've done a lot of day trips, including Kings Island , Kalahari , and other local things.  One of the major perks of working from home is that I can take a day off during the week so avoid the weekend crowds.   Normally, I schedule my posts, but I didn't this week.  I was probably in our pool, looking for dive sticks instead of writing.   This week, we drove an hour away to a public lake with a beautiful swimming beach.  They have inflatables for the kids to play on, ca

Beard Oil for Men Recipe + Free Printable Label

Learn how to make a beard oil for men recipe.  This easy recipe also doubles as a face oil to keep both hair and skin smooth and moisturized. Father's Day is coming up, so I wanted to share a DIY for men.  My husband doesn't have a beard, but he isn't always clean shaven either.   Shaving irritates his skin.  Since men don't generally put much effort into skin care as women do, I took it upon myself to make him a beard oil that also doubles as a face oil. I added a face oil to my daily skin care routine last year.  It's made such a difference in my skin, so I made a face oil/beard oil just for him. If your man has a beard, this will moisturize it so it looks and feels healthy.  If he doesn't have a beard, this is a good oil to use for the skin. The opinions expressed below are my own.   Several weeks ago, I introduced you to Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion .  It’s a new way of dieting that is completely different from other diet books.  My goals were to lose weight, get more energy, and sleep better. Since sleep is such a big issue for me, I’m taking other steps to improve my sleep in addition to following the advice in the book.  I’m going to bed earlier and waking up at the same time each day.   Between my new sleep schedule and the book, I feel a lot better.  I wake up more rested now.  This is also boosting my energy levels.  I’ve been taking Nacho for walks around the farm to get more exercise since I have more energy in the afternoons now. If you missed my first two posts, learn more about the book and why I’m followi

Sore Muscle Bath Salt Recipe

How to make a sore muscle bath salt recipe to naturally relieve sore and tired muscles with Epsom salts and essential oils. About seven years ago, I started experiencing extreme muscle and joint pain.  At the time, I had three kids, two of which were preschoolers.  By the time I put them to bed, I was in so much pain that I couldn't even sleep.   I went to the doctor and got tests done.  I had a lot of inflammation in my body, and I was eventually diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia.  The doctor gave me prescription pain medications, but I couldn't take them with my kids being so little.   I took anti-inflammatory medications, but they upset my stomach.  I started researching natural ways to relieve my pain, which is when I learned out turmeric.   I also learned about other natural remedies, including this sore muscle bath salt recipe.  It has Epsom salts and essential oils to promote muscle pain relief.
