11 Fall Essential Oil Blends For DIffusers or DIY Recipes

Use these fall essential oil blends to make your home smell like fall!

It's finally fall, y'all.  Fall used to be my favorite time of the year.  I loved the falling leaves, the crisp air, pumpkins, and apples.

Now that I'm an adult, fall reminds me that the S-word is coming soon, and I'll be spending all of my money on heating bills.  Adulting sucks sometimes.

In an effort to get myself in to the fall spirit, I've been using a lot of fall blends in my home.  I prefer to use natural essential oils over fragrance oils, so I create or buy my own fall blends.

I've already made quite a few projects with Pumpkin Pie Spice and Apple Pie Spice blends, You can use those essential oil blends or substitute one of these.  Just use the same amount of oils, and you can use any oil that you'd like.

Just watch for sensitivity with cinnamon or cassia in recipes for your skin.  Some people get irritation from them.  Also watch using citrus essential oils if you'll be spending time outside because they can increase photosensitivity.

FALL ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS

When I want to make seasonal blends, I make them in empty essential oil bottles.  I really like the bottles with droppers.  I also have some tiny empty bottles for seasonal blends because I don't make a lot of each blend.

How much I make depends on how I'm using the blend.  If I'm just diffusing it, I'll usually just double the batch.  If I'm making another DIY beauty recipe, then I'll make it several times over so I have enough to use.

If you're using these blends in an essential oil diffuser, you'll want to add between 4 and 6 drops, so some of these fall essential oil blends you can mix right in your diffuser.

HOW TO USE YOUR FALL ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS

I use my fall essential oil blends in my diffuser the most often, but I also use them in perfume, roller bottles, and other recipes.

Here are some recipes that you can make for fall using your custom blends:

FALL ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS

SPICED CIDER

There isn't an apple essential oil, so this uses orange, which is still a great fall blend.

PUMPKIN PIE

This doesn't have pumpkin, but it does have the spices that are in pumpkin pie.

CRISP FALL AIR

You know that crisp feeling in the air?  Get that inside where it's warm with this blend.

FALL ORCHARD

Last week, I toured an apple orchard with my daughter.  We got to walk into the cooler with 10s of thousands of apples and through the orchard.  There's nothing quite like that smell, but this is close.

ORANGE CINNAMON

Although not very popular, this is a great fall scent that gives a little something extra versus just using cinnamon.

CAMPFIRE

I love the smell of a fall campfire.  Some of the best memories are made around a fall fire.

SPICED CHAI TEA

Spiced chai tea is a fall favorite because it can keep you warm on those cool nights.

If you want to turn this into a Spiced Chai Latte, add a drop of vanilla essential oil.

FALL RAIN

I just love the smell of rain!

GINGERBREAD

This will make you think there are fresh gingerbread cookies baking in the oven.

  • 4 drops ginger essential oil
  • 2 drops clove essential oil
  • 2 drops cinnamon essential oil
  • 1 drop vanilla essential oil

FALL LEAVES

Real fallen leaves make me sneeze, so I burn this to get that smell instead.

IMMUNE BOOSTING BLEND

Fall means colds and flu.  This blend can support your immune system to promote better health.

Have you tried any of these fall essential oil blends?  What's your favorite?
