Best Fall Essential Oil Blends

Here are several fall essential oil blends that are perfect for diffusing, for soap, or for perfume or body spray.  You can easily create your own blends to make your home smell warm and inviting this season.

It's finally fall, y'all.  Fall used to be my favorite time of the year.  I loved the falling leaves, the crisp air, pumpkins, and apples.

Now that I'm an adult, fall reminds me that the S-word is coming soon, and I'll be spending all of my money on heating bills.  Adulting sucks sometimes.

In an effort to get myself into the fall spirit, I've been using a lot of the best fall essential oil blends in my home.  I prefer to use natural essential oils over fragrance oils, so I create or buy my own autumn essential oil blends..

I've already made quite a few projects with Pumpkin Pie Spice and Apple Pie Spice blends. These fall essential oil blends can also be used in those projects; simply use the same amount of essential oils.

Just watch for sensitivity with cinnamon or cassia in recipes for your skin.  Some people get irritated by them.  Also watch using citrus essential oils if you'll be spending time outside because they can increase photosensitivity.

Best Fall Essential Oil Blends

When I want to make fall diffuser blends, I make them in empty essential oil bottles. I like the 5 ml amber bottles because I don’t make a big batch of seasonal diffuser blends for fall, and I don’t want to have leftovers for the following year.

How much of the diffuser blends for fall I make depends on how I'm using the blend.  If I'm just diffusing it, I'll usually just double the batch. However, if I'm making another DIY beauty recipe, then I'll make it several times over so I have enough to use.

If you're using these blends in an essential oil diffuser, you'll want to add between 4 and 6 drops, so some of these fall essential oil blends you can mix right in your diffuser.

How to Use Simple Fall Essential Oil Blends

I use my fall essential oil blends in my diffuser the most often, but I also use them in perfume, roller bottles, and other recipes.

Here are some recipes that you can make for fall using your custom blends:

What Essential Oils Are Good for Fall?

There are several oils that are popular for diffuser blends for fall.  The most common are:

I also like to add some citrus like lemon or sweet orange to my fall diffuser recipes sometimes.

I also have several pumpkin spice essential oil blends to try this fall.  For other holiday blends and more, this printable ebook has more than 100 essential oil diffuser blends.

What Oils Smell Good Together?

Did you know that there’s actually a science to creating an essential oil blend?  Each essential oil has its own blending factor.

A blending factor is a scale from 1 to 10.  The lower the blending factor, the stronger the smell.  Therefore, you will use less of that oil in your autumn essential oil blends.

To learn how to make your own diffuser blends for fall using blending factors, check out my essential oil blending factor worksheet.  This has the blending factors of almost 80 different essential oils plus worksheets to easily create your own diffuser blends for fall or any time of the year.

The blending factor worksheet complements my essential oil journal.  You can save your favorite oil blends and recipes in this journal.
