Cucumber Conditioner Hair Mask Recipe

How's your garden doing?  Mine is doing great!  We've got zucchini, cucumbers, and peppers in.  I have already made two batches of bread and butter pickles and dill pickles, so I'm looking for ways to use my cucumbers.

Then I found this recipe.  I use cucumbers from my garden, but you could certainly buy them from a farmer's market or from the store.

Cucumbers are high in silica, which is high in potassium.  Your hair needs potassium to grow long and healthy.  You'll want to use this on your scalp and your roots to promote new hair growth by massaging the scalp

Olive oil is rich in vitamins that your hair needs to stay healthy, and it's easy to find.  You could also substitute soybean oil or sweet almond oil if that's what you have on hand.

Cucumber Conditioner

What You Need

  • 1/4 cucumber peeled
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  1. Puree the cucumber in a blender.
  2. Mix cucumber, egg, and oil in a small bowl.
  3. Massage all over our hair and scalp, massaging your scalp gently.
  4. Let sit for 10 minutes.  Rinse well.
Not sure what to do with the leftover cucumber?  Try a cucumber moisturizing face mask or this cucumber tonic.
