1.  Honey and Banana Hair Mask

Honey is naturally antibacterial and antifungal, so it will help combat a few causes of itchy scalp. Mash an over ripe banana and combine it with 2 tablespoons of honey. Apply directly to your scalp and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse well and shampoo as usual.

2.  Hot Oil

If your itchy scalp is caused by dry skin, massage warm--but not hot!-- olive oil on your scalp. Comb through your hair and wash out after 5 minutes.

3.  Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar acts as an anti-inflammatory, and it also helps kill bacteria and yeast. Rinse your hair with cool water and massage ACV directly on your scalp. Rinse again with water and shampoo as usual.

4.  Baking Soda
Make a paste of baking soda and water. Massage all over your scalp gently with your fingertips and rinse. Wash your hair as usual.

5.  Aloe Vera

Aloe vera soothes irritated skin, so massage it directly on your scalp. Rinse and shampoo your hair.

6.  Coconut Oil

Coconut oil moisturizes your skin, and it naturally fights bacteria and yeast. Massage it on your scalp before washing.

7.  Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a wonderful itchy scalp home remedy. Add 10 to 20 drops to your shampoo and use for several days. You can also add it to olive oil to massage on your scalp before washing.

Depending on the cause of your itchy skin, you may have to try one or a few of these itchy scalp home remedies before you find one that works. When you do find one that you like, use it once a week to keep your hair soft and prevent and itchy scalp.
