My Favorite Recipe from Always Eat After 7 PM

Several weeks ago, I introduced you to Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion.  It’s a new way of dieting that is completely different from other diet books.  My goals were to lose weight, get more energy, and sleep better.


Since sleep is such a big issue for me, I’m taking other steps to improve my sleep in addition to following the advice in the book.  I’m going to bed earlier and waking up at the same time each day.

Between my new sleep schedule and the book, I feel a lot better.  I wake up more rested now.  This is also boosting my energy levels.  I’ve been taking Nacho for walks around the farm to get more exercise since I have more energy in the afternoons now.

Always Eat After 7 PM is a revolutionary new diet plan that lets you eat dinner, dessert, and indulgent snacks while your body burns fat all night.  We’ve been told to avoid carbs, eat dinner early, and don’t eat before bed.  But new research shows that this isn’t the best for your body.

The book  is from Joel Marion, a best selling author.  He’s also a fitness expert and nutritionist.  

I’m a meal planner.  If I don’t follow a meal plan, life gets too chaotic to have a balanced dinner.  The book has easy meal plans, so that takes one thing off of my weekly to do list.  It has food lists and recipe ideas, too.


My favorite recipe is the No Bake Salted Caramel Bars.  I don’t have a big sweet tooth, but when I want something sweet, it’s hard to ignore the craving.  I didn’t tell my kids the recipe was from the book, and they will never know.  It’s that good!  You can freeze leftovers, so you’ll always have a healthy snack or dessert ready to go.

I don’t even feel guilty having a small snack or dessert after dinner.  According to the book, “Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their daily regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night, and check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day.”
