Time to Glow Up

Ten years ago, I had a newborn, a 2 year old who never sat still, and a kindergartener. I was a stay at home mom who was freelancing to help support our income. Did I mention that the two- year-old didn’t sleep through the night until he was five?

I don’t think I got more than three hours of sleep at a time for six years. I was exhausted and trying to function on copious amounts of coffee.

It was taking its toll. I had bags under my eyes. My skin looked dull, and I looked tired all the time.

Thankfully, I’ve grown up in the last 10 years. I dare say that I’ve had a glow up because so much about me has changed.

In my 20s, I didn’t have a skin care routine.  I washed my face twice a day, put on my moisturizer, and went about my day.  I had some makeup that I wore, but I really didn’t take much time with my makeup or know the best way to apply it.

Now, I take better care of my skin with good products.  Instead of covering bags under my eyes, I’m actually getting some sleep, so I don’t have the bags in the first place.

I’m eating better and drinking my water, so my skin and hair look better.  If I get the least bit dehydrated, my facial skin starts to look rough.  Again, no more covering it up.  I’ll drink the water each day, so my skin stays good looking.

Glowing up doesn’t have to be difficult to do.  Actually, it’s made my life easier.  I feel a lot better now that I’m taking care of myself.  My skin care routine now isn't just whatever I grabbed off the shelf; I’m using products that actually work with my skin.

Olay Cleansing Infusions have both a facial cleanser and a body wash for glowing skin.  The facial cleansers come in two formulas: Olay Micropolishing Cleaning Infusion Hydrating Glow Facial Cleanser with Crushed Ginger and Citrus Extract and Olay Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Facial Cleanser with Deep Sea Kelp and Aloe Extract.

Olay Cleansing Infusions are available at Walmart.

I’ve used both, but the micropolishing formula works better with my large pores and oily skin.

There are also two kinds of body washes: Olay Microscrubbing Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Body Wash with Crushed Ginger and Olay Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Body Wash with Deep Sea Kelp.  Both use biorenewing hydrators to improve your skin’s condition for glowing skin.

I like both for different reasons.  For day to day use, I like the hydrating glow formula.  I’ll switch to the microscrubbing formula once a week just for a little boost to my skin from the exfoliation.

Looking back, I’m not sure what took me so long to glow up.  How did you glow up?
