Eyeshadow is one of the most versatile products in your beauty arsenal.  Your eye area is a sensitive area of your body, so if a makeup is safe for the eye area, it's generally safe to use anywhere.  This means that you can safely use eyeshadow on your eyes, face, lips, or even your hair!

I found 11 eyeshadow hacks that give you new uses for your eyeshadow plus a few ways to hack it for your eyes.  Think you know everything there is to know about eyeshadow?

11 Eyeshadow Hacks That You Need to Know

1.  Broken Eyeshadow

Fix a broken eyeshadow by spraying with alcohol.  With your finger or a tissue, lightly press down on the broken powder to set it.

2.  Intensify Shadow

If you want your eyeshadow to really pop, use a white liner on your lids and then apply the shadow.  For a less dramatic effect, use a light beige as a base rather than white.

3.  Brows

You don't have to buy a separate product to fill in your brows.  Use a stiff angled brush and eyeshadow to fill in your brows.

4.  Eyeliner

I use eyeshadow as an eyeliner often, so this is my favorite eyeshadow hack.  I use an eyeliner brush and apply the color as I normally would eye liner.  You can also wet the brush for a darker look.

5.  Highlight

Eyeshadow makes an excellent highlighter.  Pick a shadow one or two shades lighter than your skin and apply it to your cheekbones, brow bone, and the bridge of your nose.  Blend the edges.

6.  And Contour

Whether you're just learning how to contour or you're trying to pack light for a trip, use eyeshadow as contour.  You want to use a matte shadow about two shades darker than your skin tone.

7.  Bronzer

I don't wear bronzer often, so I don't buy it.  Instead, I use eyeshadow.  Look for a shade with a red, orange, or yellow undertone.  You can apply it as is or mix with a moisturizer for a more subtle look.

8.  Under Eye Concealer

If you have been lacking sleep, cover your dark circles with eyeshadow.  Use a matte orange or yellow shade under your foundation.

9.  Lip Balm

If you bought a shadow that just doesn't look right on your, crush it up and mix with coconut oil to make a lip balm.

10.  Change Your Lip Color

If you have a lipstick that isn't quite the right shade, dust eyeshadow over top of it to slightly lighten or darken it.  As a bonus, this also helps set your lipstick.

11.  Root Cover-Up

No time to get to the salon?  Brush a shadow that's within a shade or two of your hair color over your roots.  If you have highlights, use two colors.  I do this with three colors in my hair, and it works great.
