Taking Care of Yourself + Giveaway

This post was sponsored by Nature Made® as a part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.

As moms, we spend more of our day take care of everyone else.  I take care of three kids, my husband, the house, and the pets every day.  If you'll notice, I forgot one important person: Me!  I should automatically think to take care of myself, but I don't.  I used to feel guilty about taking time for myself, but I'm working on that.  My kids are getting older, my youngest is now 8-years-old, so they don't need me as much as they used to.  Now, I can sneak away for a few hours to get my hair done or even shut myself in my bedroom for half an hour to collect my thoughts without worrying about the kids getting in to things.  One of my goals for 2016 is to take care of myself better.  Keep reading to see how I'm doing it.

Taking Care of Yourself

Get Enough Sleep

This is the absolute hardest for me.  I am a total night owl, but I have to get up at 7 to start my day before the kids get up at 8 so we can start homeschool at 9.  I used to stay up until the wee hours of the morning either cleaning or writing because the house was quiet, but I was always exhausted.  Now, even if my to do list isn't done, I make myself go to bed at 9 to read for an hour and be asleep by 10.

Take a Timeout

My kids get a time out when they are so overwhelmed that they can't function, so why can't mom have a time out too?  My husband and I both work odd hours and have crazy schedules, so we've been giving each other a few hours of alone time every few weeks.

Stress Relief

Taking a timeout is a big stress reliever for me.  Just a few hours without worrying about the house, the kids, or my work can do wonders for my stress level.  I still battle the every day stress—the good stress and the bad stress.  I started taking Nature Made Stress B-Complex.  When you eat right and exercise, B Complex can help with energy production and convert food in to energy.†

Everything Pretty

I feel better when I take time to care for myself.  I'll admit that I don't do full makeup every day, but I do wear some foundation and some eye makeup when I go out.  I always have my hair done, whether I'm at home or I go out.  I started taking Nature Made VitaMelts for Hair Skin and Nails a few weeks ago.  It has biotin, which can help support healthy hair, skin, and nails in those who are deficient in biotin and Vitamin C to boost collagen production.
