I received Matcha Green Tea powder free in exchange for a review.  As always, opinions are my own.  There may be affiliate links in this post, which means that I earn a small commission from sales.

I was so excited to be offered Matcha Green Tea powder to review because I am a big advocate of drinking tea for my health. I normally drink white tea because I find the taste of green tea to be too strong.  Since this is a powder, I can add it to anything--even drinks and desserts!

Green tea is one of the healthiest drinks you can have.  Green tea has been shown to improve blood flow and lower cholesterol.  Green tea can even help keep your blood sugar stable.  Some studies show that the EGCG in the tea can improve weight loss, but other studies show no effect.  Regardless, it's still healthier than drinking sugary sodas.

Matcha Green Tea comes with a free recipe guide when you order it.  It's full of great recipes for everything from drinks to desserts.  It makes it so easy to sneak in to your favorite foods.  I decided to try the Matcha Orange Cocktail for two reasons: It's easy, and I wanted to use as little ingredients as possible so I could see how much the powder affected the taste.

Matcha Orange Cocktail
What You Need

  • 1 teaspoon Matcha Green Tea
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup 100% orange juice

  1. Place ice cubes in a glass and set aside.
  2. Combine green tea and sugar in a small bowl.  Add hot water and stir well.
  3. Pour the green tea mixture over the ice cubes and let sit for 1 minute.
  4. Add orange juice.
Ta da!

The recipe was very easy to make, but the true test is the taste.  The green tea blended with the OJ very well!  I did really enjoy the drink.  I was also afraid that the powder would be gritty, but it's not as long as you stir well.  If the tea settles to the bottom, it will be stronger.

If you need your daily green tea hidden a little better, try making a dip, bread, muffins, or even french toast!  Since you only use a little bit of powder in each recipe, one bag will last for a long time.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
