Remington S5500 Digital Anti Static 1 Inch Ceramic Hair Straightener Review

When flat irons became popular a few years ago, ceramic straighteners were very expensive.  I received a flat iron as a gift, so I was stuck with metal plates.  I recently picked up a Remington S5500 digital ceramic straightener, and I am in love.

A few weeks ago, I blogged about the benefits of a ceramic straightener.  They promise sleeker hair and less damage.  I knew my metal plated flat iron was damaging my hair, but a $200 ceramic plated model was not in my budget.

Then I came across the Remingon S5500 digital flat iron.  It's list price is just $19.99, but it sometimes goes on sale.  I was skeptical because of the low price, but I read the reviews.  The reviews are very positive, so I ordered it to try it.

I am in love!  The plates are smaller, so it is easier to hold- even with arthritic hands.  It's lighter and more comfortable for me, too.

The ceramic plates glide through my hair without tugging or pulling like my old flat iron.  My hair does look smoother and shinier.

Its too soon to tell if this will reduce the damage to my hair, but it does feel softer and look better today.
