It's been almost a year and a half since I was introduced to Paula's Choice and their custom skin care line. Let me tell you, it was a sad, sad day when I ran out of that skin care set. I had to order more and a few more products to try. My skin is fairly good, but I do have large pores and some fine lines that are causing me some concern. I started with the Resist Anti-Aging line because it targets both of my skin concerns. I ordered a few more products the next time and found some new favorites, and Paula's Choice sent me three new products to try that are quickly becoming my new favorites.
The Daily Pore Refining Treatment with 2% BHA is hands down the best thing I've found for daily use to shrink my pores. It exfoliates deep to reduce fine lines and really cleans out pores to make them appear smaller. I use it after cleaning and toning in the morning and night.
I use the Skin Balancing Pore Reducing Toner after cleansing in the morning and evening. My skin seems to be changing from oily to normal to just slightly dry, especially in the winter. I like this toner because it has glycerin as the second ingredient, so my skin doesn't get overly dry.
I use the Skin Balancing Oil Absorbing Mask once a week to even out my skin tone and help shrink pores. It's not overly thick, so it spreads on my skin nicely. Some masks make my skin red for several hours, but not this one. It's gentle enough that I can use it in the morning without irritating my skin and getting a red tone for the rest of the day. It has both kaolin and bentonite clay to pull impurities from the skin, glycerin to hydrate, and aloe leaf juice powder and colloidal oatmeal to soothe the skin.
Paula's Choice New Favorites
The Smoothing Primer Serum is a great primer. It goes on light and gives me a clean, smooth surface upon which to apply my foundation. I love that it has an SPF of 30 because I'm a big advocate for using sunscreen every single day. Some of my creams don't have sunscreen, but I am covered when I use this primer.
I also got to try the Gorgeous on the Go Makeup Collection. It has a blush, highlighter, , 3 eyeshadows, and an eyeliner in one neat little compact. There's also a lip gloss in the set. The blush is a gorgeous coral shade that works very well with my skin tone. The highlighter is subtle, which is exactly what I like. The eyeshadows cover well, and the coppery shade gives it just the right amount of shimmer.
The Radiance Renewal Mask isn't your typical mask because you don't rinse it off. You apply it at night after you finish your skin care routine and let it work until morning. This mask feels like liquid silk between your fingers. It soaks in to your skin, so it won't stain your pillowcase.
