Keratosis Pilaris Treatment + Giveaway $195 Value

When my daughter was just a baby, I noticed that she had small bumps all over her face, arms, and legs.  They seemed to get worse in the winter, especially when she went outside in the cold air.  My older son also had these little white bumps, but he outgrew them as a toddler.  My daughter, however, never outgrew them.  She's eight-years-old now, and she still has them on her face, arms, and legs.  She gets a lot of redness on her face, especially in the winter.  I asked our pediatrician about them, but she had no idea what they were.  Since they didn't itch or seem to cause her any discomfort, we didn't pursue it any further.  I started using different creams and lotions on her and bathing her once every three days to help her skin.  That did help, but the bumps were still there.  Finally, I stumbled upon keratosis pilaris on the Internet.  After looking at the photos, I was confident that was what she had.  I started to use the keratosis pilaris treatment options that everyone mention, mostly using products with lactic acid, and they did help.  Emmaus recently sent me their products, and I was really excited to see how they work on her skin.

What is Keratotis Pilaris?

Keratotis pilaris causes tiny, hard bumps on the surface of your skin.  They are usually light in color--my daughter's bumps are white--and can be seen on the legs, upper arms, and sometimes the face.  They are caused by a buildup of keratin, a protein that protects the skin.  The keratin buildup plugs the hair follicle, causing the bumps.

Keratosis pilaris is usually worse if you have dry skin.  The dry winter air can also make it worse.  Some people will have keratosis pilaris and eczema.

Keratosis Pilaris Treatment

  • Bathe every 2 to 3 days instead of daily.
  • Use warm water for bathing and not hot water.
  • Use soaps with extra fats and oils.
  • Keep the skin moisturized.

Emmaus Beauty

Emmaus Beauty was created to help keratosis pilaris sufferers, but it also helps with uneven complexion, ingrown hair, eczema, psoriasis, scaly skin, and body acne.   The skin care set works together to cleanse, exfoliate, and nourish the skin.

My daughter has been using it for three weeks now, and we've seen a significant reduction in her bumps.  This is the best keratosis pilaris treatment that she's tried so far.  She says she's not itchy, and I haven't seen any redness on her little face.  Our house is really dry because we have a wood stove for heat.  We run a kettle on the top of the stove to put gallons of water back in the air, but I'm afraid her skin may not heal completely until summer when the air gets more humid.

Emmaus Beauty was generous enough to offer a skin care set for TWO of my lucky readers!  Each kit is worth $195 and includes a body wash, moist towels, and a lotion.  18+ and United States only.
