3 Ways to Boost Your Confidence Fast

If you're new to Everything Pretty, then I want to tell you a little secret.  It's one that I've shared with my readers before, but I want to reiterate it because it's so important.  Being beautiful is not about being perfect.  Beauty is not your nose shape; it's not your eye color.  And it's definitely not your dress size.  Beauty radiates from your soul.  It's being kind and helping others.  It's offering a kind word to a stranger.  It's what you do each and every day to make the world a better or even happier place for other people.

I'm fairly confident in what I do to help my family and my community, but that doesn't mean that I don't try to look my best.  I feel a lot better when my hair is done, even if it is just for my benefit.  I enjoy applying makeup and creating new looks, so I usually wear makeup when I go out, even if I'm just picking the kids up or grocery shopping.  When cold sores try to beat down my confidence, I use Abreva® at the first tingle, then I try these tricks to keep my confidence high while it heals.

Play Up a Different Feature

My eyes are my best feature, so I usually play them up every day and just add some gloss on my lips so my eyes and lips aren't competing for attention.  If I have a cold sore or a blemish on my chin, then I continue to play up my eyes and skip my lip gloss or use a lipstick that's close to my natural shade.   If I have under eye circles or a blemish on my forehead, then I will use a darker lipstick and line my lips and down play my eyes with a neutral shadow.

Don't forget that if a cold sore is threatening your confidence, you can fight the cold sore with Abreva®.  I wrote a post on how to cover a cold sore while it heals last year, so be sure to check it out.

Take Care of Your Skin

You want your skin to radiate even if you have a blemish that you'd like to ignore.  Try a face mask to keep your skin glowing.  If your skin is dull, you can exfoliate it with a product made just for your face to avoid redness.  Creating a skin care routine can also help your skin glow every day.

Beautiful Hair

Changing your hair style can really be a boost of confidence.  If people are used to you wearing your hair in a ponytail, you'll be surprised to see their reaction when you change it up and wear your hair down or vice versa.  Keep your hair looking soft and shiny with a hair mask or deep conditioning treatment once a week.

I've shared with you my top tips that I used to boost my confidence.  Tell me yours in the comments.
