Thank you Derma e for providing me with a sample and sponsoring this post.
Winter is coming, which for me means that start of dry skin. My skin is pretty happy for three seasons of the year, but as soon as the temperature drops, I start itching and getting flakes. Since we live in the middle of nowhere, gas heat isn't an option. We heat by burning wood or using propane, and both are very drying to your skin. I set a kettle of water on top of the wood stove, but my skin still itches. My facial skin is actually combination, so I have to be really careful what I use as a moisturizer because I either end up with my skin flaking or my T-zone really oily. Keep reading for my recommendations for a dry skin winter moisturizer.
Dry Skin Winter Moisturizer
Derma e recently sent me their Hydrating Night Crème With Hyaluronic Acid to try. My skin is already starting to flake this year since we've had to heat the house quite a few evenings, so I was really excited to try it.
My regular readers have read about Derma e here and here. They are a wonderful company to work with, and they are one of my favorite natural brands to use.
Derma e started selling products in a health food store in California. Their first product, a 12,000 I.U. Vitamin E Moisturizing Crème, was so popular that the company quickly grew. They started making other products and selling in other places, and now they are available at Walgreens.
The Hydrating Night Crème worked very well on my dry skin. I wanted a night cream because if it was too heavy, I wouldn't an oily T-zone all day. I shouldn't have worried because it doesn't make my oily zones excessively oily at all.
It also plumps your skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It has Hyaluronic Acid, which is a wonderful ingredient to moisturize your skin because each molecule holds 1,000 times it's own weight in water. That, my friends, means serious moisture and toning for your skin. It also has vitamins C and E to protect your skin from free radicals and aloe to soothe your skin.
Even more amazing? It's paraben-free, cruelty-free, vegan, sulfate-free, lanolin-free, mineral oil-free, gluten-free, and GMO-free!
