I have a lot of meetings each week. Between three scout troops, vacation bible school committee, bible study, and school meetings, it seems like I'm always going somewhere. I was carrying a large purse to fit everything, but that got cumbersome when I was going to the store. I decided to just pack the essentials in my purse and have a dedicated bag for meetings. Usually, I grab this bag to run to the store or an appointment too. I always have lip balm with me because I'm such an addict, so I have a great recipe for an easy coconut lip balm at the end of the post. Keep reading for the recipe.
What's In My Bag?
I love my iPad! I keep a lot of notes there and save my spreadsheets and documents so I can access them on the iPad and the computer. I have a data plan, so I'm constantly looking up information or referencing a Pinterest board that I used to save ideas.
As a blogger, this is always by my side. I need to be able to reply to emails, check social media, and stay on top of my social media accounts.
If it isn't written in here, it doesn't get done. This has all of my blog posts scheduled as well as doctor's appointments and the kids' schedules.
4. Notebook and Pen
I use this to take notes at each meeting so I have all of my notes in one place. This helps tremendously when I need to reference a previous meeting.
5. Tampax Pocket Pearl
My baby days are over, so I'm not as careful about keeping track of my cycle as I used to be. Sometimes Mother Nature takes me by surprise, so I always have Tampax Pocket Pearl with me. I love that they fit in my pocket so I can take one from my bag and put it in my pocket to take to the restroom. When a lady grabs her purse to use the restroom, everyone in the room knows why. This is much more discreet! I love the Backup™ Braid, which helps prevent leaks and the easy-open tab, so not everyone in the restroom knows what I'm doing. Since I can find Tampax Pocket Pearl at Target, it's easy to grab them during my weekly shopping trips.
6. Lip Balm
I'm a lip balm addict. This is a really easy recipe with just three ingredients: coconut oil, beeswax, and vitamin E oil.
What You Need
- 4 teaspoons organic coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons beeswax
- 1 vitamin E capsule
- Lip balm containers
- Melt the beeswax in a glass container in the microwave. I put mine in for a minute and then 30 second intervals until it was done. If you just have some tiny little specks that aren't melted, they will usually melt in the next step.
- Add the coconut oil and stir. I did not have to reheat because it's summer and my coconut oil was very soft. The heat of the beeswax melted the oil very well.
- Pierce or cut the vitamin E capsule and add it to the mixture. Stir well.
- Pour in to a container. I filled 2 and a half lip balm pots with this recipe.
