Did you watch the Oscars last night? Even though I haven't seen most of the movies, it's still fun to watch the awards and look at the stars. My daughter loves community theater, so she loves to dress up to watch the awards shows. With two older brothers, she wants to be as girly as she can. She was begging to do our nails, so I came up with five easy manicures that we could do ourselves. I wish I were a nail artist, but I need a little bit of help. That's why I love Q-Tips Precision Tips because they are tapered at the end so I can easily fix my mistakes, and I used them for each manicure that we tried yesterday.
This is everything that we used for at easy manicures. We grabbed our favorite polish colors and some accessories and let our imaginations run wild.
Ombre Glitter French Tips
I painted my nails with two coats of 5 different shades of green for an ombre look.
Then, I used these French mani strips so it would be easier to get a straight line.
Then I used Q-Tips Precision Tips to add the glitter. This gave me more control than using the brush because I didn't want a glob of glitter. Take the stencil off before the glitter dries for a straight line.
Cute and easy, no?
I've tried to do dots before, but I could never get them right. They are so easy doing them this way! Just paint your nails the base color and dip the of a Q-Tip Precision Tip in the color you want the dot and gently press on your nail for a polka dot.
It was so easy, even my 7-year-old did her nails like this!
I was always scared to try a cheetah print, but it was so easy! Just paint your base color and then make polka dots like I described above for the spot color.
To make the black lines, just dip your Q-Tip Precision Tip in black and make parentheses or a horseshoe around the spot. I love that they don't have to be perfect to look great!
My daughter loves wearing jewels on her nails, but they never stick! I painted my nails the base color and let it dry. Then I used the Q-Tip Precision Tip to add a dot of clear nail polish as a glue. You could also use nail glue. Then I added the jewel on top and let it dry. It worked great, and they finally stayed on her nails for a few days.
I bought this bottle of heart glitter polish a while ago, but we could never use it. The glitter was so big that it sunk to the bottom, so it was impossible to get on our nails.
I used a Q-Tip Precision Tip to reach down in the bottle and grab the glitter piece by piece and place it on my nails. This worked perfect! And they are disposable, so I didn't have to clean clear nail polish from my tweezers.
Q-Tips Precision Tips are definitely going to be in our nail polish box from now on! They help me create so many easy looks, and they are disposable so I have less to clean up. Did you know they are even biodegradable when composted? That's definitely a bonus!
