Fall 2014 Hair Trends

Do you change your hair style with the seasons?  I currently have the inverted bob, and I love the cut so much that I haven't changed it for fall.  I did change my highlights though.  I had brown all over with bright red and blond chunky highlights for summer.  This fall, I went a shade darker all over and switched to thinner highlights in a light brown and a barely there burgundy.

If you want to change your entire look, here are the top fall 2014 hair trends, and I'll give you some tips on how to get the looks at home!

Straight Hair

Beachy waves are for summer.  Fall is all about straight hair.  If you use a straightener, use a moisturizing shampoo like Dove Pure Care Dry Oil to protect your hair.  Using a flat iron regularly can really damage your hair, but the oil in that shampoo really helps keep your hair nourished.

Ombre hair is extremely popular this fall!  For most women, this means lightening your hair for at least part of the color, which can lead to damaged hair.  Make sure you use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair shiny.

In fall, highlights get darker and redder.  Swap your blonde highlights for copper or light brown.  Burgundy also looks great on many hair colors.  Raspberry and cherry highlights are also very popular fall 2014 hair trends.

Sideswept bangs are for the carefree days of summer.  Thicker bangs are in for fall.

The inverted bob is the most popular cut among the women in my area.  I see it everywhere, but there are so many variations that each woman can have her own unique style.  This style is usually work straight, but it can look fab volumized too.  Get the look with a wide-barrel curling iron to create very large curls and give your hair volume.

How to Get these Looks

This fall, I've been rocking my inverted bob with help from Dove Pure Care Dry Oil products.  My hair is naturally curly, which means that it is dry.  I also straighten it every other day or daily, so it takes a lot of abuse. I've used products with oils in them to try to keep my hair silky and soft, but they weighed down my hair.

Look how shiny and smooth!

Dove has a three step solution that works on all hair types.  I really had really great results using all three products together.

First, wash with the Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo.

Then use the Pure Care Dry Oil Conditioner and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing.

Towel dry hair and add 3-4 pumps of the Dry Oil treatment.  Comb the product through damp hair.  Then let your hair air dry or use a hair dryer and style as usual.  I didn't even use a separate heat protectant because the dry oil helps protect your hair from heat.

Why It's Different

Dove uses African Macadamia oil and coconut oil, which are two of my favorite oils for hair.  The macadamia oil is a dry oil, which means it helps nourish hair so it is silky and shiny without weighing it down.  Coconut oil helps protect your hair if you use a blow dryer or flat iron.
