DIY Avocado and Buttermilk Facial Mask Recipe

I'll admit it: I don't eat avocados.  I never even used to buy them until I found out how awesome they are for your skin and hair.  Avocados are high in protein, oils, minerals, and vitamins that your skin and hair need.  When applied to your skin, avocados gently cleanse while they hydrate, so your skin is glowing and feels soft.  It is said that avocados can help stimulate collagen production, which can help improve the look of your skin and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

Why buy expensive treatments at department stores when you can buy an avocado at the grocery store and make your own DIY avocado and buttermilk facial mask recipe?

Since this mask is so nourishing, it can really help a sunburn or sensitive skin.  Some people with eczema find relief from avocado masks applied to their skin.

What You Need

Directions
  1. Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit.  Cut one half in half again.  
  2. Scoop out the pulp and mash it with a mortar and pestle.  You can also use a fork to mash it.
  3. Add just enough buttermilk to make a paste.
  4. Apply the avocado facial mask to your face and neck and let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing.
